Woven

SHAGGY MIRANDA, THE STORY OF THE ARTIST BEHIND SHAGRANDA RUGS.

(Documentary Film by BFD Creative Co.)

What happens when skateboarding, street art, and DIY culture collide with the ancient craft of rug making?

Woven is an intimate, self-funded documentary that explores the creative world of Shaggy Miranda — the artist and founder of SHAGRANDA Rugs. Known for his bold, handwoven pieces that fuse texture, movement, and the soul of street culture, Shaggy is a one-of-a-kind maker turning threads into narrative.

Filmed in his Brooklyn workshop, the story reveals how Shaggy pulls from a past steeped in skateboarding, graffiti, and music, translating those influences into tactile, living art. This isn’t just a profile piece — it’s a look inside the mind of an evolving artist who weaves rebellion, rhythm, and resilience into every rug.

Why This Story Matters

Woven is more than a behind-the-scenes look at an artist.
It’s a tribute to creative reinvention, the beauty of process, and the cultures that shape identity.

At its core, this film is about:

  • The crossover of street culture and fine craft
  • The art of transformation through making
  • How movement, music, and memory become mediums

It speaks to brands, creatives, and communities that believe in the value of the handmade, the personal, and the real.

🎬 Behind the Lens

Directed, shot, and produced by me, Ben | BFD Creative Co., this documentary was made independently to tell stories that blend art, identity, and subculture. With a warm, handheld style and rhythmic editing, Woven mirrors Shaggy’s world — raw, kinetic, and full of color.
